The Boulding Foundation is delighted to have awarded a grant of £10,300 to St Wilfrid’s Centre in Sheffield for essential workshop equipment. The Centre confirmed receipt of the donation on 8April 2026 and expressed its thanks for the Foundation’s support.
This grant will help St Wilfrid’s Centre strengthen its workshop provision for people experiencing social exclusion, creating more opportunities for individuals to gain practical, transferable skills through hands-on production. By investing in essential equipment, the workshop will be able to support people to build confidence, develop routine, and move towards greater independence.
The funding will also help participants produce high-quality items, including Mediboxes for organisations such as the NHS, generating income for the Centre and supporting its wider social enterprise activity. This means the impact of the grant will be both immediate and lasting: improving the workshop environment, increasing trading capacity, and helping create meaningful opportunities for people to learn, contribute, and feel more included in society.
Deirdre Boulding, Trustee of The Boulding Foundation, said:
“We are proud to support St Wilfrid’s Centre and the important work it does for people facing social exclusion in Sheffield. This grant is about more than equipment — it is about creating real opportunities for people to develop skills, build confidence, contribute through meaningful work, and take positive steps towards greater independence.”
We are pleased to support organisations like St Wilfrid’s Centre that combine compassion with practical action, and that help people feel valued, included, and empowered within their community.
